Coach Lorie Pulliam has been training athletes both physically and mentally for 30 years. She has an outstanding reputation to build an athlete from the inside out. She feels that mental preparation for sports is the most vital component of competition.
Lorie enjoys helping all young athletes in a variety of sports. She is most noted for her work with teams in hockey, soccer / football.
Coach Lorie feels that individual athletes in sports such as tennis, gymnastics, swimming, racing, skiing and golf can benefit greatly from training the mind to give the body capacity.
Coach Lorie has a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education from the University of Calgary, Canada and a Master's degree in Sports Science from the University of Alberta.
Her research is in the area of applied neuroscience in sports. Coach Lorie can tell you that the human brain is100% mapped out-this is why we know more about sports than ever before. We can see what the brain does when it is concentrating, focusing and staying calm. Even though technology has helped us- the MIND-(inner workings of the brain) is still new territory. This is where sports and science come together.
Although Coach Lorie will apply some psychological tools- the bases of her work is in brain science, the ability to unlock the mind's capacity. Teams the know her work will tell you she is capable of changing the dynamics of what an athlete is thinking almost over night. When you begin to learn about mind capacity and mental/emotional controls- any athlete with the right physical development- can accomplish anything. Lorie's signature work is in the area of Mind Maps for Sports(TM)
She is the mental trainer of many professional athletes from sports ranging from hockey to basketball to BMX! Coach Lorie works with any sport and athlete that is willing to do the mental work. Mental training is 10 times harder than anything you will do with the body physically, and technically--but Coach Lorie makes it easy and fun!
Athletes do not come to see Coach Lorie because they have a problem- they come to see her to perform better as an athlete and first and foremost a person.
Lorie has a special focus for young up and coming athlete in which there is a need to help them learn early how to: FOCUS, FEEL POSITIVE and STRIVE to be their best.
